I have been working in the Travel/Hospitality Industry for the past 13 years. I started with Travel and Transport, in Omaha, NE, before moving to El Paso, and Sun Travel in 1995. I am a graduate of Texas Tech, but now a big supporter of UTEP Athletics.  Working in the Travel Industry is very rewarding; as Travel Agents, we help our clients "Make Dreams Happen".

Lucy Lorea - Leisure Sales Manager

I have been in the travel industry since 1977.  I first worked for American Airlines and have been hooked on the travel industry ever since.  I came to Sun Travel in 1990.  I obtained the Certified Travel Consultant Certificate because I have a strong commitment to the travel industry and to my clients.  I have traveled to Asia and Southeast Asia, Hawaii and Europe several times.  Many of the trips were on the over 20 cruise sailings I have taken.  My favorite part of this job is to sit with my clients and plan their vacation dream. 

Ann Sparks - Sales
I have been in the travel business since 1991, and associated with Sun Travel since 1997.  Since my hobby is travel, helping others decide on which wonderful and exciting places to visit brings me a great deal of satisfaction.  My travel experience has been enhanced by my personal travels to Asia, Africa, South America, Europe, and all over North America.  I am available Monday through Friday, and welcome the opportunity to assist you on your next vacation.

I have been in the travel business since 1981.  I came to Sun Travel in 1994. I love to travel, but the best part of being a travel agent is meeting so many interesting people and helping them make their dreams come true.

I have been in the travel business for 16 years.  I came to Sun Travel in 1997. I have traveled to Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and United States. I enjoy reading and traveling. 

Lenore Kobren - Sales
I first came to Sun Travel in 1988, following my employment with KDBC in outside sales.  I have traveled extensively to destinations in Europe, China, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, Israel, and throughout the United States.  Of all the trips my husband and I have taken, I believe I enjoy cruising the best as evidenced by our 25 cruises on various cruise lines.  Not only have these trips provided me treasured memories, they have given me the tools I need to help our clients.  Brochures are nice, but no tool is more useful than having actually been to a destination, or experienced a particular tour company or cruise line.   My first hand knowledge allows me to impart my experience and enthusiasm to better serve my clients.  I continue to enjoy my employment with Sun Travel and my ability to work within the Travel Industry.

Sylvia Ramirez - Sales 
I started working at Sun Travel in 1998. One of the things that I love most about my job is that I have the opportunity to help clients make their dream vacation come true. That gives me a wonderful satisfaction. I have traveled all over Mexico, some parts of Europe and the US. Being 100% bilingual gives me the opportunity to help both spanish and english speaking clients.

Maria Maldonado - Sales
I became a travel agent in 1987 after attending the American Airlines Travel Agent Academy. I have been on several cruises. I have traveled to South America and am an expert on Hawaii and Mexico, including Mexico beaches and Colonial Mexico. I have traveled extensively in the U.S. My biggest satisfaction is when  clients come in the office or calls me after a vacation, and tell me how happy and how grateful they are that I made their dream vacation come true.

I began my travel agent career in 1979, and joined the Sun Travel family in 1981.  I love to travel, and my favorite spot so far has to be the French Riviera, but have enjoyed seeing the sights in Europe, the United Kingdom, North and South America, Asia, and Africa.  Being a travel agent brings with it not only job satisfaction in helping make vacation dreams come true, but also in dealing with a broad spectrum of people who are happily planning their vacations.  I hope my travels can benefit others as they make their plans, and when clients return and compliment me on a job well done, it really gives me a great sense of satisfaction.

I started my travel career while living in Brownsville, Texas and have been coordinating travel both Leisure and Corporate for the past 13 years.  The best part of my job is working with all the great clients and helping them with their travel needs throughout the four corners of the globe.  I believe in providing excellent customer service and obtaining the best value for my clients.

Born in Okinawa and raised in the Philippines from the age of seven, I speak four languages, including Japanese and Tagalog.  Across the seas, I have traveled extensively in the Far East, Spain, Austria, Germany, and Monaco, and on this side of the ocean, explored parts of Brazil and all of the Hawaiian Islands.  Doing my best to see the most I can to see our beautiful country, I have traveled throughout the United States and Canada.  My cruise experiences include the Caribbean, the Mexican Riviera, and Alaska.  While many of my clients are business travelers, I still enjoy the ability to help my leisure clients make their vacations memorable ones.

I first came to Sun Travel, the best agency anywhere, in 1979. I left twice for a brief time but came back and Sun Travel was kind enough to re-hire me to do the work I loved.  This is the best job in the world, living vicariously through other people's travel.  I have traveled some, my favorite trips were to Norway, to meet all my relatives and to Germany to go to the Lufthansa School of International Tariff.  I now live in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and through the miracle of modern technology, I can live in Paradise and still work for the best agency ever.  When I am not working I am either reading or gardening.

For the past 27 years, I have worked at Sun Travel, assisting clients with their travel needs, serving both as a Leisure Agent specializing in group travel, and as Sales Manager.  As with most travel agents, traveling is my favorite past time, along with golf, gardening and grandkids.  My travels have taken me all over the world, including all of Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa, Mexico, South America, Canada, Great Britain, and of course, the United States.  I have put group trips together for Australia/New Zealand, a Reine River Cruise, Tuscany, the San Juan islands, Alaskan cruises and cruise tours, Scotland, and numerous golf groups, including the British Open.  But of all my global wanderings, I believe I enjoy cruising the best.  You unpack once, leaving the rest of the cruise to relax, but have the benefit of visiting various locales.  Even though I am now part time, I still enjoy working with clients to ensure that each vacation is their best yet.  I am in the office and available to assist you on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

My career as a Travel Counselor first began in 1979, and I have been with the Sun Travel family since 1988.  Following a brief stint as an outside sales agent in Wyoming, I returned to El Paso and continue to serve the needs of long-time clients, as well as new ones.  I have had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States, Europe, Hong Kong, Great Britain, Mexico, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, with my favorite spot being Jamaica.  I still find time for my sewing, flower arranging and gardening, as well as cooking.  As a travel agent, I learn first hand of interesting, new destinations, as well as the great deals that often are not advertised in the main stream.

My career as a Travel Agent began in 1990, and I have been with Sun Travel since 1996.  My travel experiences include Asia, Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Turkey, Costa Rica, Great Britain, and Mexico, in addition to various destinations within the United States.  Even though I have been many parts of the world, there are still so many I look forward to experiencing.  I believe the best part of being a travel agent is the opportunity to meet so many interesting people who allow me to help them plan the trip of their dreams.

I have been in the travel business since 1979, and came to Sun Travel 1996.  I attained my Certified Travel Counselor status and have been assisting both leisure and business clients with their travel needs.  Since I also have experience in group travel, I am able to help my clients in just about every area. 

Shirleen Askenazi - Independent Contractor
My son and I established Uniglobe TraveI in 1996, but in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, we closed our agency.  I came to Sun Travel in 2003.  My travel experiences include Caribbean, Alaskan, and Mexican Riviera cruises, France, Asia, Japan, the South Pacific, Iberian Peninsula, Northern African, Canada and the United States.  One of my favorite trips was a recent one to Israel where we toured the entire country and the exposure to the diversity of cultures and religions.  Closer to home, I enjoy beading, baking, walking and spending time with my husband and my eight grandchildren.  The best thing about being a travel agent is my ability to help clients fulfill their dreams and even more fun, hearing about their experiences and seeing their pictures when they return.

I am a newcomer to the Sun Travel Team, coming onboard in February of 2007, as an Outside Agent and Cruise Specialist.  I have a love for travel, along with a great enthusiasm to meet all the particular needs of my clients.  I pride myself in making sure everything is just right, so they can experience a trip of a lifetime.  My husband and I, and our two sons, have been fortunate to travel extensively and I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.  I want the same for my clients.

Claudia Main-Cruise Specialist I have been with Sun Travel since June 2008, working initially from El Paso, TX and now from Alamogordo, NM. I am from Mexico City where I started my career in travel in 1990.  I owned a travel agency for 10 years.  In 2000 I moved to Germany and worked 7 years providing leisure and official travel for the military and their families. I have lived in Mexico, Europe and now in the U.S. which gives me the opportunity to know many people and places.  I love to travel and I have visited Central and South America, Canada, Europe, U.S. and of course most of the states in Mexico. I love to cruise and have had the privilege of helping many people with their travels.
