I have worked at Sun Travel for 28 years.  I started out delivering tickets and filing brochures while I attended UTEP.  I moved to accounting and became Accounting Manager in 1986 after my graduation with a degree in Business Management.  In 1991, I was promoted to General Manager. 

Gloria Martinez - Accounting and Quality Control I have been working at Sun Travel for 10 years, since Aug 1995.  I am not a travel agent but like working in the support deptartment because I have a variety of duties.  I have been to San Antonio (Sea World and Fista Texas), Los Angeles,(Disneyland), Orlando ( Disney World), Cancun, Mazatlan, Las Vegas, Chicago.  I like going to Disneyland with my kids, but I also like the beaches in Cancun and would like to go there again someday

Karen C'deBaca - Ticketing
I have been with Sun Travel for the past 8 years, working the "back office" of our agency.  Having previously worked in the banking industry for over 14 years,  I was able to make a nice transition into my current duties at Sun Travel, including the handling of American Express transactions.  Among my other duties, I make sure you get your tickets before you leave, by monitoring departure dates, and keep the library and store room tidy to give your agents the time they need to help you with your travel needs.  I have done some traveling, but not as much as I would like.  I was lucky enough to live in Hawaii for 5 years while my husband was stationed there.  While off duty, I love to read Danielle Steel books, cross stitch, garden and home improvements.  In recognition of the job I do behind the scenes, Sun Travel awarded me the Helen Semple Award of Excellence in 2003.

When I started working for Sun Travel in 2007, I didn’t know much about the travel industry.  Slowly but surely I am learning that it is always changing and very demanding.  I worked for a major bank for 15 years and then I left to try something different.  I was placed in a law office as a receptionist back in 1996 by a temporary personnel firm and from there I became a legal secretary.  I worked for many lawyers here in El Paso as a legal secretary.  I enjoyed it very much, but I started to get burned out and I decided to look for something different.  I went to apply in a temporary personnel office again and they placed me here in Sun Travel as a receptionist.  I enjoy working here and was offered a position in the Support/Accounting department which I quickly accepted because I love working with numbers.

Lisa Holguin - Receptionist - Main Office

Prior to joining Sun Travel, I was a Nail Technician for four years and a Directory Assistant at MCI for three years.  I like that I am always meeting new people and learning all the different destinations there are to visit.
